PERSONAL INFORMATION FACTS WHAT DOES SCE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION (SCE FCU) DO WITH YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION? Why? Financial companies choose how they share your personal information. Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing. Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information. Please read this notice carefully to understand what we do. What?
The types of personal information we collect and share depend on the product or services you have with us. This information can include:

When you are no longer our customer, we continue to share your information as described in this notice.
How? All financial companies need to share members’ personal information to run their everyday business. Why can’t I limit all sharing? Federal law gives you the right to limit only
- sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes – information about your creditworthiness
- affiliates from using your information to market to you
- sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you
- State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.

Collecting, Using & Sharing Information
How We Collect Information
The browsers of most computers, smartphones and other internet access devices are set up to accept cookies. You can refuse to accept these cookies through your browser settings. You will need to manage your cookie settings for each device and browser you use. If you choose to reject cookies, you may not be able to use the full functionality of the Website. For example, if we are not able to recognize your device, you will need to answer a challenge question each time you log on. You also may not receive customized advertising or other offers from us that may be relevant to your interests and needs.
How We Respond to “Do Not Track” Signals
“Do Not Track” (“DNT”) refers to an HTTP header used by Internet web browsers to request that a web application disable its tracking or cross-site user tracking. When DNT is enabled, a user’s web browser adds a header to content requests indicating that the user does not want to be tracked. Applicable law requires us to disclose how we respond to web browser DNT signals. We do not respond to or take any action with respect to a DNT configuration set in your internet browser, and therefore, there is no reason to disable tracking related to SCE FCU’s online presence.
Personal Information We Collect
When you interact with us via our Website, we will not obtain personal information about you unless you choose to provide such information. Personal information that we may collect about you through online interaction includes information that you provide, such as your name, mailing address, email address and other contact information; data resulting from your activity, such as transaction information; and limited location information (for example, a zip code to help you find a nearby ATM).
We will retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Other Information We Collect
In addition to the personal information described above, we also collect anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your ZIP code, region, preferences, interests, and favorites. We may also automatically collect information about your computer hardware, such as the IP address of the device you use to connect to the Website, the type of operating system and browser you use, search engine used, access times, referring website addresses, the parts of our Website you access, and the site you visit next.
Third Party Widgets
We may allow certain widgets (e.g., social share buttons) on our Website that allow users to easily share information on another platform, such as a social media platform. The third parties that own these widgets may have access to information about your browsing on pages of our Website where these widgets are placed. You may wish to review information at the third party sites, such as social media platforms where you have an account, to determine how these third parties collect and use such information.
How We Use Information
In addition to the uses described above, we use the information for purposes as allowed by law, such as:

- To service your accounts with us;
- To send you important information regarding the Website, changes to terms, conditions and/or policies;
- To track Website usage, such as number of hits, pages visited, and the length of user sessions in order to evaluate the usefulness of our Website;

How We Share Your Information with Third Parties
We do not partner with third parties for the purposes of engaging in online behavioral tracking, nor do we permit third parties to collect from the SCE FCU Website personally identifiable information about your online activities.
Children’s Online Information Privacy
Our website is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use personally identifiable information from our Website about children under the age of 13 without parental consent. Updating Your Personal Information
Keeping your account information up-to-date is important. You can access and/or update your personal information in connection with your account or application by logging on to your account online or by calling our Contact Center at 800.866.6474.
Security measures have been implemented to improve Online Banking security. The login security uses a verification code to authenticate yourself via text message and/or a voice call to ensure that it's you trying to access your Online Banking accounts. The options on how to receive your verification codes are provided during the login security setup. Login Security allows us to recognize you as the true owner of your account by recognizing not only your login information but also your computer. If we don't recognize your computer, you will be requested to receive a new verification code. This adds an additional layer of protection from fraud and identity theft by preventing unauthorized access to your secure financial information.
Linking to Other Websites
The SCE FCU Website may contain links to third party websites. Although these links were established to provide you with access to useful information, SCE FCU does not control and is not responsible for any of these websites or their contents. We do not know or control what information third-party websites may collect regarding your personal information. SCE FCU provides these links to you only as a convenience, and SCE FCU does not endorse or make any representations about using such third party websites or any information, software or other products or materials found there, or any results that may be obtained from using them. We encourage you to review the privacy statements of websites you choose to link to from the SCE FCU Website so that you can understand how those websites collect, use, and share your information. SCE FCU is not responsible for the security or privacy practices of the linked websites.
From time to time, we may change this Policy. The effective date of this Policy, as indicated above, reflects the last time this Policy was revised. Any changes to this Policy will become effective when we post the revised Policy on our Website. Your use of the Website following these changes means that you accept the revised Policy.
- Social Media Public Use Policy
These terms govern SCE Federal Credit Union’s (“SCE FCU”) social media-based websites, accounts, pages and applications (collectively, “sites”). By accessing SCE FCU’s sites, the user agrees to be bound by and comply with these terms, all applicable laws and regulations, and any other applicable policies, terms and guidelines and existing agreements established by SCE FCU and those of any third parties that host its sites (which may include, but are not limited to, Facebook, YouTube, Yelp, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+, Twitter). If the user does not agree with any of these terms, they should not use or access SCE FCU’s sites. Any unauthorized use of SCE FCU’s sites or misuse of any information posted to a site is strictly prohibited.
SCE FCU welcomes member and non-member participation as a means of sharing experiences, suggesting improvements, and contributing to conversations. SCE FCU has established the following use limitations. SCE FCU reserves the right to review any and all comments at its discretion and to delete comments that are, or include:
Comments focused on selling a product or service, or comments posted for a purpose of driving traffic to a particular website for personal, political, or monetary gain will be removed.
If the user disagrees with the content, SCE FCU would like to hear from them, but ask that the user refrain from personal attacks or being disrespectful to others. Malicious intent and/or participation not in the spirit of civil conversation will be removed.
Posts must not violate laws that govern use of copyrights, trade secrets, etc.
Comments including, but not limited to, profane or provocative language will be removed. Comments that contain threatening, hateful, offensive, derogatory, obscene or sexually explicit language will not be tolerated.
Private or confidential information
Specific account details or other personal information should not be included when posting comments. If the user has immediate service needs, they should call SCE FCU’s Member Care Center at 800.866.6474 or visit one of SCE FCU’s local branches for assistance.

SCE Federal Credit Union (SCE FCU) is committed to ensuring our members and others who receive communications from us do not encounter spam. We only send commercial electronic messages (CEMs) from our servers in compliance with this Anti-Spam Policy. A CEM sent by SCE FCU is an electronic message that encourages participation in a commercial activity, such as purchasing an SCE FCFU product or service.
What is spam?
Spam is unsolicited electronic messages, also known as “junk” email or text messages, often, but not always, sent in bulk form. An electronic message may be spam if:
- The message is deceptive in that there is an attempt to hide the true sender or content of the message.
- The recipient's personal identity and context are irrelevant because the message is equally applicable to any other potential recipients; or
- The recipient has not granted explicit or implied consent for the message to be sent.
When does SCE FCU send commercial electronic messages (CEMs)?
We only send CEMs in the following contexts:
- You have explicitly informed us you would like to receive such messages;
- We are responding to a request for information from you;
- To communicate with you about your account, loan or similar relationship with us;
- To provide information you are entitled to receive about products or services you have purchased from us;
- You have provided your email address to us, or have published your email address, without placing any restrictions on its use, and the content we are sending you is relevant to your business role;
- You have an existing business relationship with us;
- The SCE FCU employee sending you the message has a personal or family relationship with you; or
- You are receiving the message in order for us to fulfill a legal obligation or enforce a pending or existing legal right.
How does SCE FCU protect you from receiving spam?
CEMs sent, or caused to be sent, from SCE FCU’s servers do not:
- Use or contain invalid or forged headers or non-existent domain names;
- Employ any technique to otherwise misrepresent or obscure the sender of the message, the point of origin or the transmission path for the message;
- Contain false or misleading information in the subject line or otherwise contain false or misleading content;
- Use a third party's Internet domain name, or relay from or through a third party's equipment, without permission of the third party; or
- Attempt to surprise or confuse you. We make best efforts to ensure you have either specifically asked to receive electronic messages from us, or you can reasonably expect to.
We do not knowingly do business with any company that participates in sending spam. We do not sell or exchange any of your information without your consent.
What if I no longer want to receive messages from SCE FCU?
Our CEMs provide you with an option to email us that you no longer want to receive our CEMs. Your request will be processed as soon as possible, and no later than 10 days after you send the request. There are only limited contexts in which you cannot request we stop sending you messages, such as when we must communicate with you to enforce our legal rights.
Receipt of a CEM from SCE FCU that seems to violate this policy
In the unlikely event you receive any messages from us that may be considered spam, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and the matter will be investigated.
Changes to this Anti-Spam Policy
SCE FCU may amend this policy at any time by publishing a new version of it on the SCE FCU website.
